The Cross of Christ

How many of us are familiar with the service telling the Easter Story, “The Cross of Christ”? On Palm Sunday, Evensong took the form of readings, hymns and anthems recounting the events of Jesus’ trial, crucifixion and resurrection. The idea for the service, led by Paul, was Ian’s and the choir’s. It really brought home to us the Easter message and we would like to thank them for their beautiful playing and singing, Frank for his conducting, and also Judith and Graham for the clarity of their reading. The service concluded with the wonderful hymn, “When I Survey the wondrous Cross”. It was a deeply moving experience and we sincerely hope that this service will become as well known and meaningful in our Church’s calendar as the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at Christmas.
