small change for BIG CHANGES

Post date: Sep 7, 2014 7:40:41 AM

Over the past few weeks we have been trying an experiment, to raise money for the Mission Work of the Church. It goes like this: each day Alan puts all the change from his pocket into a small container (containers can be provided and ‘change’ is any coin up to and including a value of 10p) until the container is full. This takes about a month, and prevents damage to his gent’s natty suiting. He then passes the container on to Jenifer, who has the difficult task of counting it: it normally comes to £4 – 4.50. She then returns the empty container to Alan, who starts filling it as before.

The pain in this process is in the counting, not the giving. If we extend the scheme, Jenifer will require help to count the proceeds. If we had just four more people involved, we could accumulate at least £20 a month, or £240 per annum. If you want to help, by donating or counting, please contact one of us.

This is an acorn from which a mighty oak will grow.
