Rose Queen/Walking Day

Post date: May 1, 2015 3:37:41 PM

We hope you can all come along on 13th June for this wonderful day.

Our Rose Queen for 2015 will be the adorable and dedicated Sunday Schooler Caitlin Slater. Attending her will be Matilda Dunn, Scarlet Venables and Emilie Dunn.

This is the main occasion of the year where everyone comes together as a church family and is truly a day full of joy and friendship, for all in our parish, so please encourage your neighbours and friends to join the fun. Each year we hear that churches who previously had a Rose Queen or similar have stopped this event due to lack of support or lack of children in church. Please encourage your friends along and keep our Mellor tradition alive.

HELP PLEASE!

As you are aware from last year there is now no police assistance on the day. We need 2 people who enjoy wearing high viz to help on the day. One is to block the road near the Methodist church and redirect traffic and one person to walk at the very back of the procession as final marker. If you can do either of these jobs we would be so grateful.

Contact Barbara Lucas or Debbie Chadwick.
