Our Joyful Resurrection Rock Choir!

Post date: Jun 2, 2019 4:30:02 PM

What a way to start a Sunday! …

“Well my blues are done, my heart’s on fire!

My feet are dancing to the heavenly choir!”

Never a truer word sung!

There is no greater joy than being part of community where young and old, come together in celebration and worship. And that is what Resurrection Rock was: a celebration of Jesus’ life, enjoyed by a full church of generations of families.

Years 3 and 4 children from St Mary’s primary school, with the help of members of the choir, led an engrossed congregation in a wonderful singing performance of the Easter story through Bible readings. It was lovely to see enthusiastic children (directed by a very talented Seb Roberts), join alongside adults to sing and read in worship to celebrate Jesus our saviour.

Such an uplifting family service raised my spirits for the rest of the day and I look forward to the 3rd Sunday in June for more community worship!

Resurrection Rock Update

I am pleased to announce that Resurrection Rock raised £332.77! All the money will go towards the Good Samaritan School in Uganda which I will be visiting this summer.

I would like to thank everyone who helped out in any way but especially Mrs Baldwin and our superb pianist Mrs McGurty, without whose help this performance would not have been possible.

I would also like to thank all the Mellor school children, Mellor church choir and in particular the soloists who sang so enthusiastically on the day. You were fantastic!

I am really looking forward to visiting Uganda and I will report back after the trip with news of how your money has been spent and plenty of pictures!

Thanks for coming and helping me to raise such an amazing sum of money. I am looking forward to singing with you again very soon at Family Services.
