Barbecue
Our 5th Annual Barbecue was held on Friday 13th July when we made a total of £2343.60, £250 of which has been given to Derian House the chosen charity of The Millstone in recognition of their support over a number of years. A big “Thank you” from the Social and Fundraising Committee to everyone who worked so hard to make it a success, to all who gave generous donations and to everyone who turned up on the night to make it worthwhile. There are still a few UNCLAIMED RAFFLE PRIZES at the back of church. Please check your numbers, you may have won a prize!
A TIME TO PRAY OR A TIME TO TALK????
What do we come to church for? This is a very important question which as individuals we need to address.
Yes we come to be with friends and to meet them, but uppermost in our minds has to be that we are here to give thanks to God for that goes on in our lives, and to meet Him in the sacrament.
Please would you remember that others around you like to be quiet and still and not hear others’ conversations. This applies not only before the start of worship but also especially following communion. This is a time for reflection and to sing the communion hymn. There is plenty of time at the end of the worship to catch up with friends.
THANK YOU
