Matilda Holroyd is Crowned Mellor Rose Queen 2011

Mrs Susan Venables ably crowned Matilda as our lovely new Rose Queen yesterday in a full church, after which our procession of witness around the village was blessed with fine weather - if a bit chilly - and ended with the singing of "All Things Bright and Beautiful" outside the church.This year Rita Gorman organised a gathering of former Rose Queens and Margaret Baldwin has supplied this lovely photo!
