The book tells us much of their experiences in China - all very interesting and informative

Audrey Singleton has kindly agreed to donate £4 per book, to the steeple fund, from the sales of her latest novel "Mothers Great and Small". Copies are available, price £9.99, from Rita Gorman. The book is based on a letter written by Audrey's mother, Wyn to her grand children. Briefly, the story begins in 1896 as Elizabeth, Audrey's grandmother gives birth to her tenth child, Winifred Grace.

The first few chapters tell us about the family and we get to know the brothers and sisters sharing their trials and tribulations and happy times, too, as they grow up together in Leicester.

The story mainly focuses on Wyn as she excels at school, progresses to a Teacher Training College In London and falls in love with Peter. Peter became a missionary in China; eventually joined by Wyn and it was there that they were married in 1928 with Audrey, the first of their two children born two years later.
