Election of Churchwarden

Election of Churchwarden: Following Hilda’s retirement from the office of churchwarden at the end of October a new warden will need to be elected.

An extra ordinary Vestry Meeting will be held on Monday 12^th November at 7.00pm in the Narthex for the election to take place.

Forms are available in church for anyone wishing to stand for election.

To qualify for election a churchwarden must be:-

(a) Baptised

(b) On the electoral roll of St Mary’s Mellor

(c) An actual communicant

(d) Over the age of 21 years

Once elected the new churchwarden will take up the office after admission by the Archdeacon and will be available to stand for re-election at the Annual Vestry Meeting in 2013.

Those entitled to attend and vote at the meeting are those persons on the electoral roll of St Mary’s and persons resident in the parish whose names appear on the register of local government electors by reason of such residence.
