Children Cram Church for Christingle!

Our joyful Christingle Service, in aid of the Children's Society, proved a perfect start to Christmas. As darkness fell on Christmas Eve, families slithered through the snow and streamed into our Church to 'Let light shine out in the darkness'. Children clutched their candle boxes with donations to help bring "light and power into the lives of many children, young people and families in need". Geoff Gill ably led the service and reminded us of the need to help disadvantaged children, particularly at this time of year, and aided by the children, explained the significance of the Christingle itself. The Sunday School children put us firmly in the mood with their re-enactment of the nativity - well done - and the magical conclusion was reached when the children received their Christingles and circled the church to sing "Away in a manager" by candlelight. Our Church full of families at Christmas - what could be better?
