At a Royal School of Church Music Festival in Blackburn Cathedral on Saturday 4th February, Margaret was presented by the Lord Bishop of Blackburn with a ‘Jubilee Award’ for long service to Church music.

Margaret has been a member of Mellor Choir for over forty years and my deputy organist for most of that time.

Prior to this she was a member of Lower Darwen St. James’ Church Choir and played the organ there from the age of 15 years.  She trained at St. Mary’s College, Bangor and played the organ there for the chapel services.

Having worked with Margaret for such a long time, I am delighted she has been honoured for 55 years of faithful service.
