In May I ruptured my Achilles tendon and was housebound for a time. Even when I was recovering, I was not allowed to drive so I could not go to my usual church of Holy Souls Catholic Church. So when I could use my crutches I hobbled up to evensong at St Mary’s. I found it a lovely experience. The people were very welcoming and the sermons were thought provoking. Even though I did not know all the hymns I still joined in as much as I could. The prayers were mainly familiar and it does make you realize how close the links are between the two religions. I am now able to drive so am worshipping back at Holy Souls ( It is a bit like supporting Blackburn or Burnley – you cannot really change your allegiance !) So I do want to say again how good it was to join you and I am sure I will come again.
