Choir Notes - February 2015

Post date: Jan 27, 2015 3:59:48 PM

Christmas is receding into (recent) memory although "in the bleak midwinter" on a cold January day resonates perhaps more potently than "Ding Dong Merrily on High".

Alongside "Benedicamus Domino" and "The Angel Gabriel" the above, the first in the beautiful setting by Harold Darke, represent the choir's "particular" musical offerings to our carol service.

"Outings" to Stanley House, "fronted" by Margaret Baldwin - thank you, and to The Millstone, not only spread Christmas cheer but raise valuable sums towards the choir fund and in support of local charities.

I would like to thank the choir and its "guests", Anne, Helen, Caitlin and Zoe for their efforts, enthusiasm... and indeed, expertise throughout the festive period.

As the church's year unfailingly unfolds, preparation for Passiontide and Easter now takes place.

Please consider joining us and stretching your vocal chords to the highest levels! Singing in a "chorale" is a pursuit proven not only to be fulfilling and enjoyable... but also healthy!
