Sunday 8th November 2009 Remembrance Service

It was good to see the church so full again for the annual Service of Remembrance yesterday with representatives from the parish council, the police, the school and the other churches in our community.

The service was conducted by the Rev’d. Paul Rolfe and was very well supported by Frank Ashton and the choir who sang the Nunc Dimittis and an anthem “Thou knowest, Lord, the secrets of our hearts” by Purcell. In the sermon about “Forgetting” Paul explained that to enable us as Christians to go forward, the knowledge that God forgets and forgives our wrongdoings is part of his love for the world.
