Following an audition at the Northern College of Music in Manchester, Thomas James Wiggans, aged 11, has been offered a place in the Halle Children's Choir.

Thomas was recommended by Mrs Julie McGurty, teacher at St. Mary's School and was selected from 200 children from the North West who attended the audition.

This prestigious choir was set up last year by Sir Mark Elder, Musical Director and James Burton, the Halle's Choral Director.

Training starts in September and Thomas can look forward to performing with the Halle Orchestra, the Halle Choir and the Halle Youth Ensemble.

Thomas has been a chorister in our Church Choir for five years.

Well done, Thomas.
